An initiation ceremony is held in May of every year, so you must fulfill the above requirements by May of the year of your graduation to be initiated as an official member of Beta Alpha Psi at UCLA. If you fulfill the above requirements before your senior year you will be initiated in the year of completion of these requirements.

If you pledge but are unable to meet the requirements to be initiated as a member by the time of your graduation you are eligible to have your National membership fee refunded. Local membership fees are non-refundable.

Pledge Points:

In order to maintain pledge status, pledges must accumulate points by participating in BAY professional, regional and community service events.

Pledge standing is based on the point system, in which a pledge may earn one point for one hour of participation in a BAY event.

A 5 point carryover rule will be implemented. Under the 5 point carryover rule, a pledge will be allowed to substitute non-BAY hours for BAY hours, up to a maximum of 5 hours of professional events and 5 hours of community service events. Pledges and Members must individually petition the board for recognition of their non-BAY hours. This is done by filling out a petition available on the website in the documents section, and submitting it by hand or email to a board member. Non-BAY events are evaluated for points based on how they fit with our initiatives and core skill areas.

Top point earners receive preferential treatment for access to certain events, are considered most favorably when running for office or cabinet, and may win scholarships to attend regional and national events.

We look forward to Adding Value to your education and career!
